Ms Mukasa Mirembe Beatrice is also a Board Member of Voluntary Action for Development Micro Finance Ltd. She is a former Board Member, Uganda Women’s Network (UWONET) ((2010 to 2015)). Member of the International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE), USA; a member of Action for Development (ACFODE), an advocacy NGO in Uganda. And a member and former Finance Secretary, Forum for Women in Democracy (FOWODE).
Ms. Beatrice is a Socio-Economist and Gender specialist with long experience University teaching, research, policy analysis, project analysis, humanitarian worker, environmental and Social Impact Assessments consultant. She has done extensive consultancy work for the Government of Uganda, several other African countries, Multinational Organizations, UN Women, Private Entities and NGO’s, covering a wide range of topics mainly in gender and economics, value chain analysis of selected crop enterprises, including manuals, proposals for funding various programs, decentralized governance, economic integration and evaluations; stakeholder analysis, socio-economic and gender analysis for Environmental Impact Assessments and Audits.
Ms. Beatrice is a Doctoral Research candidate in the field of ‘Gender and Climate Change Adaptation at Makerere University. She holds a Master of Arts Degree in Gender and Women Studies, a Bachelor of Arts (Economics, French, and Education) and Diploma in Education. She has undertaken continuous professional development programs such as Information Competence and Management; capacity building for skills enhancement to implement “Adaptation to the Impact of Climate variability on food and health security in the cattle corridor of Uganda”; gender and equity budgeting National Trainer of Trainers; gender mainstreaming in the local government assessment system in Uganda; training in advanced gender research methodology and Socio Economic and Gender Analysis Training of Trainers.
